Peter Vincent makes his living as a stage magician on the Las Vegas Strip, killing fake vampires night after night. He's Scottish in origin, though a combination of deliberate effort and a number of years of American living has dulled his accent to the point where it's almost too generically British to pinpoint. He has a wife, Ginger, with whom he squabbles incessantly, and his hobbies include collecting artifacts and weapons related to the slaying of various creatures of the night and drinking anything sugary and alcoholic (Midori is a particular favorite of his). He's rarely to be found sober, and many would feel justified in referring to him as a brat or a diva, as he's often extremely difficult to work with or even talk to. He hides his insecurities behind a veil of irritability and foul language, and, whether consciously or not, does his best to drive others away.


SPOILERY INFO (highlight to read):
Around the age of ten, Peter became the lone survivor of a vampire attack on his family. Years of repression convinced him that he'd made the whole thing up to explain a much more mundane personal tragedy, but the denial has often worn thin. He tells himself he collects crucifixes, stake guns, holy water, crucifixion nails, and the like because it's "bitchin'" - much the same as he tells himself his play-acting at being a vampire slayer onstage means nothing.

No canon point is yet set for this Peter, but it can probably usually be assumed he's from sometime after the events of the film. Ginger is dead at the hands of a minion of the same vampire that killed his parents. Peter's collection turned out to be the perfect arsenal, and along with Charley, a boy who came to him for help when a vampire moved in next door to him, Peter helped to obliterate the clan that had been forming in Las Vegas.
